Too bad for Bigby, but if you're going to get cut it may as well be to make room for a former teammate.

Did anyone around the team see her pick coming? Seemed odd at the time that the W was taking a player who only started half her college team's games. I get what Connecticut saw--good size, 40% from 3, and familiar with a pro-style system--but her chances of sticking seemed slim.

If Van Lith sticks with the Sun, she'll be back in Texas next season, as the team is moving to Houston. Big winner in that deal has to be the Mohegan Tribe, which somehow is getting paid $300 million for the club.

That team is grasping for straws. Can't imagine they'll find a difference-maker out there to salvage the season. HVL would have helped sell some tix for the inaugural season in Houston, and then they could've waived her.

I guess they were making room for their 2024 first rounder who finished her French pro season as finals MVP. Fair enough--HVL was probably told it was a short-term gig going in.

[ What the heck? ]??? Does HVL have a scheissed up attitude or something? She knows how to ball.

The wnba seems scheissing stupid. I'm glad I don't waste my time on it.
I think she was always a loaner for CT since they have that top 10 pick from Europe finishing up her commitments and on the way in. I don't think that was ever supposed to be a long term home, just a spot for her to get some film for other teams.

But I don't think it's attitude. I think it's the fact that she's small, struggles on defense, and doesn't shoot very well.

Much like football, maybe even more so, players who excel in college don't always succeed in the pros. With only 15 teams, the talent jump is just huge.
