Where We Are At:
------------------
This past summer the first-ever endowed scholarship for Equipment Managers reached the minimum $50,000 donation level to be unitized. In fact, at this point the scholarship is endowed at $80,000 … Something for us all to be proud to have helped!
Why This Is Important:
------------------
As you may know, most of the EQ staff works 50+ hours a week on a purely volunteer basis. The lack of pay precludes some students who cannot afford to work for free while in school. This scholarship helps selected equipment manager(s) by paying out 5% of the endowed value annually.
Next Steps:
------------------
The more we raise, the more that will be given to benefit current and future equipment manager(s). The first scholarship(s) will be given next Fall in the amount of 5% of the value of the endowment on December 31, 2012.
I'm writing to ask that you consider a generous gift to the Equipment Manager Scholarship before December 31. The more we endow the more generous the scholarship will be next Fall!
What You Get:
------------------
Some incentives on making an athletic scholarship gift before December 31 are:
1. You still receive double TCU Priority Points
2. You are able to claim the donation on this year’s taxes (100% tax-deductible)
3. TCU Priority Points will be recalculated in January, so your gift this year will be included in the new calculations
4. Most of all, you will have the opportunity to give back to TCU something that can never be taken away, torn down, or painted over.
Checks should go to the Lettermen’s Association and make checks payable to TCU Equipment Managers Scholarship
