I can't believe that Shannon, being the LB coach and his connections in FL, can't go in and land some great athlete to come in as a LB.

Remember Shannon is a late arrival on this year's recruiting as most of these kids have been in touch with coaches for over 2 years now. One of the reasons Skai Moore gave for committing to Rutgers was the relationships he developed with the staff over the last years and though he was impressed by Shannon he went where he felt most comfortable.

Not sure how long Shannon stays at TCU but give him some time and he will bring in some top players.

Some people Just panic all the time. Riley would of been nice but it's not the end of the world. I think we have our big 'backers in Gildon and Hilliard so lets not get too excited.

TCU's "national" recruiting program seems to have us going for players that everyone wants.

Stands to reason that if a player has offers from 8 - 10, or even more, nationally-known programs, most of those programs will be disappointed. Most of those programs will also have a ton of offers out, compared to the commitments/signings each actually gets.

Prepare to be told "no" a bunch, just like Notre Dame, Michigan, Louisville, Boise, Oregon, Oregon State, etc., are.

^^not all of these programs are elite, but I think they all recruit nationally, and even the elite ones make lots and lots of offers to fill their classes.

Exactly. I notice TCU already has some 2014 offers out to kids who also have offers from Alabama, LSU, Nebraska, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Clemson, Stanford, Iowa, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, Kentucky, Oregon, California, Illinois, Colorado, etc. When you're after a guy with a long offer list, your odds of landing him obviously decrease.

He tried to commit to us and we turned him down (it was right after Charlie Reid and Bryson Burtnett committed)

At least I'm pretty sure that was him. I know it was a TE that we offered
