Can Quentin Johnston Fill Void Left By Mike Williams’ Injury?
Justin Melo
Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston is about to receive the biggest opportunity of his young career. Starting wideout Mike Williams suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the team’s Week 3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, according to various reports. Johnston will now be tasked with helping replace Williams’ production.
Williams accounted for 19 receptions, 249 yards, and one touchdown through three contests. Williams was averaging nearly 9 targets (26) per game. With Keenan Allen already shouldering a massive workload himself, that’s a lot of opportunity and production that must now be created elsewhere.
