Does TCU have a winning record in your lifetime?

I was just curious so I looked it up.

If you were born before 11/25/33 or after 11/5/77, TCU has a winning record during your lifetime (provided you are alive when you are reading this).

Also if you were born in between 10/1/77 and 10/22/77 TCU has a winning record during your lifetime.

The rest of us need this number more wins than losses (obviously if you born in the middle of football season, it will be somenumber near the year)

birth year- number of wins more than losses needed:

1934- 6
1935- 10
1936- 21
1937- 28
1938- 28
1939- 39
1940- 35
1941- 31
1942- 35
1943- 39
1944- 35
1945- 39
1946- 39
1947- 34
1948- 33
1949- 32
1950- 35
1951- 35
1952- 36
1953- 36
1954- 32
1955- 30
1956- 37
1957- 42
1958- 43
1959- 49
1960- 54
1961- 54
1962- 52
1963- 54
1964- 53
1965- 51
1966- 52
1967- 46
1968- 44
1969- 40
1970- 38
1971- 36
1972- 38
1973- 37
1974- 32
1975- 23
1976- 14
1977- 3

People born in 1960, 1961 and 1963 have the furthest to go. If we continue at the same win rate we have the last decade, everyone will be above .500 after the 2017 season.

54. My year means us '61s are 54 games under .500 and represent the largest gap.
Neat thread.
Now add this: Do this but do not include Shofner years. That number for me would be down to 23.

Hey at least it is a lot better than it was in the late 90's. When Franchione and Patterson arrived in 1998, only those Frog fans alive that were born in between 1905- 1908 and 1911-1912 could say the Frogs had winning record during their lifetime. We are 72 games over .500 since Patterson arrived.

So if you want to know how many games under .500 TCU was during your lifetime after the 1997 season, add 72 to the above numbers.

At least among the over-40 crowd, I'm amazed that we have what t-shirt fans we do.

This is really cool information. Could you also do thisin a couple of other ways:

1) Do only the years TCU was in the Southwest Conference
2) Do an overall listing, but only tally conference games, whatever conference we were in at the time, but do not include nonconference games.

Will look forward to the new lists.

TCU had a losing conference record for the SWC years, so no one alive has a winning record. If you died before the end of the 1977 season, TCU had a winning SWC record during your lifetime, if you were alive in 1923 when we started in the SWC.

As far as conference records, for anyone born after 10/23/1982, TCU has a winning conference record.

EDIT: If you were born between 10/22 and 11/12 1994, TCU has a winning SWC conference record in your lifetime (7-5, if you were born from 10/22 and 10/29 and 6-5 if you were born between 10/29 and 11/12 1994.

Just to clarify, if you are dead and reading this, it doesn't apply to you unless you died after the BSU game in January.

Another interesting statistic is if you look at the point at which the wins exceeded losses for those born in the modern era, and chart the position of Jupiter relative to the sun, it points to the exact date, time, and location that LaDainian Tramayne Tomlinson was born in Rosebud, TX.

I do astronomy on the side.
