For the most part, scholarship is dead in football and basketball. The best players don't value professions. I have a son who ran a 4:30 mile in the 8th grade. He will be at AP Ranch for ninth grade. He does not value STEM. If I were going to go to college, it would be for STEM or accounting. Other than those degrees, the tradeoff is not worth it. I second your decision to give to the sports where scholarship may still be valued.
I think UNC might be a little better, mainly because their QB seemed "better" this year, but I doubt that team wins many games. I think it was a case where they caught us at the right time with a QB that wasn't ready, and they were able to grab an unlikely win.
They may be improved; however that is a low bar based on last year's performance. TCU on the other hand has regressed in certain areas. Time will tell how TCU responds to this opening disastrous performance.
I think this is great and support it fully... This new iteration of player pay / NIL or whatever is just not what I value.... Therefore, I care very little any longer. It's just semi pro ball now.
Why chew on Avalos? D didn't lose that game. D gave up 13 points. That should get you a win 95% of the time.
The media is covering the sport much like it's business as usual, but it's obviously a shell of it's former self. Given there really isn't such a thing as developing a program anymore (beyond $), there is just nothing compelling about 80% of the games that are being played. Borrowed players who barely attend school playing meaningless games in front of mostly disillusioned fans who are just there to be there. It's just a garbage product being hyped up and marketed to the gills.
The ineptitude of the offense is what lost this game. No question. Our red zone D was decent and kept this game within striking distance until the bitter end. The offense just was a complete mess.
Few, but others learn much quicker.

Nah,,,,1000s of players have ridden the pine after their backups have shown out. The coaches are super thick if they don't play Schobel at least 50% of the time in the next 3 games.
Now that’s a great question. I’m convinced these National Searches handled by consultants and search firms result in exactly this type of hire. He interviews well, looks the part, has a clean background and wants to be upwardly mobile. I’d much rather the admin have actual relationships that allow them to network and get referrals from within our market and region to get the right guy. CDC was at Rice, already in our market and had a proven history raising money which was the top priority. Flash forward…
