FORT WORTH -- After forty minutes of basketball, players were high-fiving fans. Frank Sinatra's voice was blaring over the loudspeakers. And just about every individual in Schollmaier Arena was standing in applause for the home team that fought through plenty of adversity to still be playing basketball through the end of March.
That was the postgame scene in Fort Worth Tuesday night as the Horned Frogs defeated Creighton, 71-58, in the NIT quarterfinals, punching their ticket to play at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., next week with all eyes on a second tournament title in a span of three years.
