DMN: Patterson, TCU embrace the challenge of a revamped SMU team on the rise

FORT WORTH -- A chance to raise the Iron Skillet for an eighth straight season will sit in front of the TCU football team Saturday.
But defending the most storied cooking utensil in the Dallas-Fort Worth sports scene may take a little more effort this time -- given the happenings some 38 miles east of TCU's campus.
No. 25 TCU (2-0) plays host to an SMU team that is off to its best start since 1984. The Mustangs are a perfect 3-0, bolstered by an offense that is averaging 44.3 points per game entering the 99th all-time meeting in the series.
