Flower Mound All-American Cam Brown sticks with TCU despite MLB interest, offers

Flower Mound pitcher Cam Brown entered an unprecedented Major League Baseball Draft knowing both possible outcomes were going to work in his favor: either he was going to be start his professional baseball career or he was going to play for TCU, the dream school he’d been committed to since he was a freshman.

As more picks went by, and slot values decreased, playing for TCU ultimately became an experience too valuable to pass up.

Brown, a consensus top-70 prospect according to multiple draft rankings, told The Dallas Morning News Friday that he declined multiple offers from MLB teams late in the draft because he didn’t think the offers were enough to miss out on playing for the Horned Frogs.

“My commitment to TCU is strong,” Brown said in a text message.
