DMN: 5 breakout candidates for TCU football this fall

Spring football came and went, with players like wide receiver Taye Barber and safety La'Kendrick Van Zandt living up to their potential as breakout candidates for the season. But we already know about the guys who impressed this spring. Now, who is going to make a similar impression this fall? Here's a look at five candidates to make some noise before the 2018 season kicks off.
1. Anthony McKinney, offensive tackle
Full disclosure: Anthony McKinney was also on our list of breakout candidates for the spring. But a quiet camp lands the JUCO offensive tackle back on the list for fall. To be fair, it's hard for O-linemen to make a big splash -- after all, if they're doing their job, you really shouldn't notice anything. While McKinney's size certainly makes him a favorite to start at left tackle for TCU opening weekend, he did little in spring camp to separate himself from sophomore Austin Myers. This position is still up for grabs, so McKinney needs to bring it.
