Whoa.....

5. Dana Holgorsen will replace Kendal Briles as offensive coordinator

Kendal Briles, current offensive coordinator for the Frogs, was a hot topic following TCU’s football season last year, as they went below .500 after appearing in the national championship. He was brought onto the squad in January 2023 following the embarrassing loss to Georgia, in hopes of making a return to the promised land and showing the world that things are happening in Fort Worth.

Holgorsen was recently brought on by Dykes as a consultant, but has positive records as head coach from West Virginia (61-41) and Houston (31-28). As a Mountaineer, he had two 10-win seasons and a victory in the Orange Bowl. If TCU runs another unsuccessful season and misses out on another bowl game, Briles’ job could be in question, and Holgorsen could fill that role.

I really think the leash for Briles is probably shorter than even the DMN is predicting. I think there are plenty of fans that no matter what Briles did at TCU they didn't want him around. I may not be the harshest critic, but I will admit I still don't like him at TCU. The offense last year was absolutely putrid in some games. We haven't been able to keep the QB room healthy the last 2 seasons.

If Briles’ playcalling continues to be inept in the redzone, this could possibly happen. Yeah great we put up a bunch of yards, but what’s the point if you don’t score?

Possibly. I do think we just had a complete inability to run the ball in the redzone last year due to poor o-line play. I do think we have the ability to be more dynamic this year, but we’ll see. I want to be pleasantly surprised.
Correct on the line play. But everyone in the stadium knew the QB was not keeping the ball.

I think the QB will be able to run more in the red zone now that we have some QB depth.
I think we will be able to run the ball more in the red zone because we have some RB depth and size..we were 70th in the nation in run O,...Bailey had the 3rd least amount of TD's per attempt of 200 carries or more in the NCAA last year... tough to score close when you can't run.
