Did anyone listen to Sonny’s radio show?

They should let the fans ask questions during the show, screen them obviously since the show is live, but fans are the only one's that are going to ask the tough questions. Estridge is not going to put Sonny on the spot during his own show.
Now that would be good radio! Can you imagine?

Actually, when I was still attempting to escape the black hole of Lubbock, we’d go to Tuberville’s radio show sometimes for happy hour (they held it at a Mexican restaurant near campus) and they would let people in the crowd ask live questions. But they did vet them, you had to submit your question before the program started and then they would call on you during the question portion. Naturally, the softball questions were the ones picked.

Did his heirs go broke since then? No, far from it

Do they also support TCU? Yes

Did something else happen after Dick passed away that would have really upset the entire family? Why yes it did…

As I and other have said - we have a fund raising issue at the moment and it’s well known why
What, The Briles hire? The AD? I’m clueless to what you’re referencing. Just say it

Tubbs and Fran shows allowed attendees to ask questions and they were not all softball questions. The world actually used to be less scripted and more genuine. People wouldn’t ask questions that were totally unfair and ugly, but would ask questions that the coaches would rather not have had to answer. Society has lost the art of subtlety and intellectual discussion.

We have enough boosters with money - do you think the guys who gave over $500 mil in a 4 year period for capital improvements back in the stadium and basketball arena days suddenly went broke…

Ask yourself what changed since then - it pretty freaking obvious that our lack of NIL issue isn’t due to a lack of people with money they support TCU

It’s getting them to give it to TCU that is the issue currently
In the past I have given a lot to the school but I have quit doing it because I don't want to support the woke political nonsense, drag queen classes, antifa sympathizers, etc. I would also like to see an issue or two of the quarterly magazine not be totally centered on DEI issues.

I can't believe I'm the only donor who feels this way now. It has to be negatively affecting donor gifting to some extent.

Was I supposed to type something here?

You're not. There are quite a lot who share your views, but we have no platform upon which to coalesce and make our voices heard. The Administration drifts along with the "Fashionable" trends in Academia, further destroying the idea of rational inquiry, and we keep on blindly giving them money to do so.

I did listen to the 247 postgame pod. It was sort of interesting.
They were talking about the recruiting and TCU’s inadequate NIL as a reason why we can’t recruit linemen of the quality that TCU has had in the past.
I’ve heard claims that our NIL is very small, so I kinda wonder if that’s not a legitimate reason for having both OL/DLs that don’t have even one legitimate NFL candidate.
On the defense, they had a GREAT point. On Saturday, Broughton was the leading tackler. How in the heck is a corner your leading tackler when SMU only 19 passes.
Our DL & LBs are not getting it done.
They also said our RBs are completely inadequate.
If you want to torture yourself, give it a listen.
I've seen examples where we offer a player 5K, where even small schools like smu are offering 40 to 50k. Needless to say ou and texas are offering 500k plus. They pay all their starting lineman 100k

That's what I don't get. This team has the talent. The last two weeks and unacceptable - that's how much talent they have.
But Bech is a player and players want to get it done. Hope he is right and it's just adjusting. But kinda hard to see it.
We have the best talent in the Big XII, but is it where it matters the most? Having the best WR depth from 1 to 12 in a conference in which you are getting pushed around at the LOS.

I don’t run in the high finance doner circles. However, I do know two folks that are in that realm, and they both told me that they turned off the athletic department faucet when the Gary Patterson firing was handled so poorly.
They also tell me that there are several others that did the same. I can only speculate that they are shooting me straight…

They just got their feelings hurt. The firing wasn't handled poorly. The team had completely quit on GP and in this day and age you can't wait until December to start your search for a new coach.

I think this is highly debatable. Having the best WRs doesn't mean you have the best talent, not even close.

That is not what I am saying.

I saw a Tweet the other day...that I can't find...from a rating service that basically said that TCU has the highest rated talent in the Big XII when comparing the current roster talent amongst the other schools in the conference. What I am questioning is whether that talent is in the groups that make sure that you have the best 22 (24 with K and P) on the field. Why does it matter if you have a wealth of talent at any one position group when only so many players can be on the field at one time. I just pulled the WR group out of thin air. Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that TCU has the best WR corps in the Big XII and that goes from the #1 WR down to the #12 WR. Well at most you can only have 5 on the field at 1 time, so 6 through 12 really don't matter, and would it be better if you had less talent at 6 through 12 and you exchanged that for a better 1-5 offensive line?
