Detroit Free Press: Michigan State will take on TCU in Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

EAST LANSING -- Mark Dantonio kicked off Michigan State's annual football banquet by accepting an invitation -- on speakerphone, in a large banquet room at the Kellogg Center -- to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
He ended it by acknowledging the "elephant in the room" that 2012 was a step backward for the Spartans and said they must now "stick their feet in the ground" and push forward. He thanked his seniors and addressed his underclassmen. "You will be the ones," he said. "And you know what I mean by that."
Asked later what he meant, Dantonio said: "I think that's pretty self-explanatory. They know what I'm talking about. That's all that's important."
MSU's underclassmen certainly would like to be the ones to break a quarter-century Rose Bowl drought, but for now the Spartans (6-6) just want to have a happy ending to a trying season. They'll try to do it vs. Texas Christian (7-5) in the Dec. 29 game at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
It'll be two strong defenses and not-so-strong offenses playing late into the desert night Dec. 29 -- a 10:15 p.m. kickoff on ESPN. ...
