Udeh is not a low post scorer even when he is healthy. Our weakness is we do not have a low post scorer on offense. Or am I missing something? If we suffer through a rough shooting night again, how do we score?

This looks a lot like last year’s team: athletic, tough on D, great on the fast break but could struggle in the half court game.

Again, sure hope I am wrong. It is early & we missed our best big man badly. Hope we have better days ahead.

Udeh on the pick and roll can be elite at times. Now, I'm not sure that would have been the case tonight, the way they guarded the P&R and with two 7 footers in the game. UM is pretty good and they shot well tonight so maybe the result isn't different.

But overall, when the defense helps, Udeh can take the pass and finish more authoritatively than either of the two freshmen. They did a good job, and Punch did have that one where he went with confidence, but we'd get a few more good finishes with Udeh in.

This team has no one who can create offense in the half court. Collins is quick but can't shoot so teams play off. Going to be an ugly style we are going to have to win with.

Going to have to jump past one of the following to get to 6th and 2 to get to 5th.

1 KU
7 ISU
8 Houston
9 Arizona
12 Baylor
17 Cincinnati
On a night later in the year, when our roles and rotation etc are more settled, and the team has played together more, I'm not afraid of any of those teams. Particularly if we play well that night.

Unacceptably bad tonight. 26% from the field. Wenzel is the only player to score beyond the arc tonight. Need Udeh back. I agree with whoever said this earlier, but this team is VERY reminiscent of last year.

OUCH!!!
[ What the heck? ]?? So does nobody shoot free throws anymore!!! At the end of the Marquette-Maryland game, both teams combined to miss 4 free throws in a row in a 2 point game.

I remember, while coaching HS basketball and assisting at the college level, looking forward to a big game (like the frogs looking forward to playing Michigan). Every once in a while a key player would be unable to go at the last minute. It’s just a big UGGGHH! Jamie had to be bumming when he got word that Udeh was out. He probably had an idea it was coming after the Texas State game. Hope he is well soon.

Three true freshman played last night. David Punch - 7 rebounds and 2 steals in 27 minutes. Micah Robinson - 9 points and 2 steals in 14 minutes. Malick Diallo 13 minutes and though not much on stats he moves well laterally with thick muscle at 6’10 - appears he is an athletic big, but a project so let’s hope he is willing to listen and work.

For TCU to have three true freshman that can contribute in the fourth game of their first season is real progress. Now let’s hope we can keep them!

He had all off season to find another Big in the portal. He did not. With Udeh down we have nothing in the paint. We miss a lot of shots. No Big and no shooting is a bad combination for big 12 play..

It’s early, but we look to be the 8th or 9th best team in the B12. Add West Virginia to the top 5 or 6.

It’s going to be extremely difficult to make the tournament this year. I’d say we have a 40% chance. Pure guess. J

Just not enough big guys to go along with Udeh.
