TEMPE, ARIZ. — It looks like Michigan State’s LT may end up as a DT.

That’s Lawrence Thomas to defensive tackle. The 6-foot-3, 295-pound redshirt freshman from Detroit Renaissance has been working there during MSU’s bowl practices.

And although the former star high school linebacker and current bruising fullback has said he is open to various spots on either side of the ball, he recently laid verbal claim to the nose tackle spot now occupied by senior Anthony Rashad White.

“He’s looked good, real good,” MSU defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi said of Thomas. “He’s more confident and he’s got a little swag to him now that he didn’t have before. He’s telling me at dinner (Tuesday) night, ‘I’m taking Whitey’s spot next year. I want his spot, coach.’ I’m like, ‘Have you given up on (defensive) end? You could still play D-end.’” ...

It's like the four or five media outlets swap stories. This is at least the third story (maybe 4th or 5th) about how Thomas will play at DT. Lots of stories from Michigan, little news.

Like I said, lots of words, usually with the same stories passing from paper to paper, but nothing new. I have found out more new info in the 3 FWST articles this week than with the 20 MSU articles. I keep reading them, hoping to get some real news, but am disappointed. I have started skipping MSU stories now because I can tell from the headline it is the same story I read last week in another paper's site.
