Des Moines Register: Iowa State defense delivers another big dagger in win over No. 4 TCU

AMES, Ia. — The Iowa State defense had already forced two red zone turnovers and held fourth-ranked Texas Christian out of the end zone all day when the Horned Frogs got ready for their final offensive series of the game.
With 1 minute, 27 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and Iowa State clinging to a 14-7 lead, the Cyclones defense needed to deliver a final stop if it was going to shock the college football world one more time this season.
When TCU quarterback Kenny Hill stepped back, fired a pass across the field intended for wide receiver Desmon White, Iowa State linebacker Marcel Spears Jr. leaped to his left, corralled the toss, rolled to the ground and completed the big play the Cyclones needed.
