I don't doubt the veracity of this. Coaches make promises they can't deliver in order to sign recruits.
I think it's a shame the kid didn't have someone in his life to filter these promises. The number of true freshman who get that many touches at a place like UT is extremely rare, and that's an understatement. Add to that, UT was already deep at RB and slot positions, and it should have been obvious he wasn't going to see that kind of action.
In today's game, almost nobody gets 15-20 touches a game unless you play QB. Earl Campbell might not get that today.
BTW, is Daje really a primadonna, or is he one of the few with courage enough to speak out when things are obviously foundering down there?
I'm not convinced either way, but people seem to be jumping off that ship down there, and that usually is because of poor leadership, not bad kids.
