There wasn't much shared love at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin, TX last weekend when TCU stunned the Longhorns 4-1 in the best-of-three elimination game. Nothing symbolized the angst felt by Horned Frog Nation more than when the TCU bench charged the burnt-orange Longhorn emblem in center field and dog-piled the iconic Steer after the final out.

But if the Frogs accomplish anything in their first CWS appearance, even a single victory (which could come as soon as 1 p.m. Saturday against Florida State), they must thank UT for that opportunity. ...

I get not wanting to sound like a homer, even though he writes for a student newspaper at TCU. Never in my life would I think I would read an article in a TCU student publication thanking another school over and over again for the accomplishments of TCU student athletes.

Where's the UT hate? What's next, do we start thanking SMU for getting us to the fiesta bowl because they let us beat them last year?

What are our students learning on campus?

I am now going to email this article to friends of mine that worked on the skiff, and mock them.

that is the weirdest article I've ever read from skiff sports writers...and there have been a lot of them, I bet that kid has never played sports because in terms of sports psychology that is pretty far from reality

I suggest you all re-read the artcile. All the thanks UT was tounge in cheek, and the intenet was that TCU has a leg up on the ress of CWS field becuase we faced the toughest supre regional to get to Omaha. TCU has already faced and beat the best pitcing staff in the NCAA (statisticaly) and that should the Frogs confidence going into the games against the rest of the series field. UT was rated the number 2 team in the NCAA and the Frogs beat them. The article also was a backhanded slap at the NCAA committe that awarded the super regional sites. Based on the final rankings TCU should have been awarded a super regional. :tongue:

Until TCU gets to face Az St. in the finals, the Frogs won't facxe another team as good as the Horns. The writer was never truly thanking UT. :biggrin:

I just reread it and tried to read it as a tounge-in-cheek piece and I had a hard time making that leap. You have to lay the sarcasm on thick for something like that to actually work.

My only thought is this guy probably has credential to the CWS will be representing The Skiff in Omaha. And that The Skiff is paying for him to go there and this is the kind crap you get from him.
