Daily Oklahoman: OSU quarterback Daxx Garman continues to take hits

All of last season, Oklahoma State allowed 14 sacks. Through six games this year, Cowboy quarterbacks have been sacked 16 times.
That’s not a trend OSU offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich likes to see. Especially against Kansas, as quarterback Daxx Garman was sacked four times and took number of big hits on scrambles.
“Those runs where (Garman) breaks the pocket and is advancing the football down the field, he needs to get down, he needs to protect himself a little bit better,” Yurcich said. “And some of the hits behind the line of scrimmage, we’ll have to take a look at the film and see what the cause of the problem was.”
When asked if the extra contact had any effect on Garman’s health, Yurcich kept his answer short.
“I think he’s alright,” Yurcich said. ...
