Minneapolis and Saint Paul both put in requirements for vaccination or proof of negative test to eat in restaurants. Home tests not accepted.

Say goodbye to those restaurants - many people not vaxxed or opposed to the requirement will go elsewhere (as I will, despite being vaccinated), while those who are vaccinated will be afraid to go out.

No more Hell’s Kitchen?!?!?!

Same in Rosemont (outside of Chicago). Had to show vax card to get into Capital Grille and hotel. Every restaurant/bar in Rosemont requires it.

(Also should add: I am a decent tipper. The Capital Grille charged me 30% "service charge" due to "shortages in the service industry" which I thought was cool - but I normally tip abv that - but when asked if it went to our waiter, the answer was "no." It was CG offsetting their losses which is pathetic IMO.) I stayed at the Lowes hotel right next door for a night and was charged $45 for "resort charges" (aka staff shortages) ... asked the house keepers if they got any of it ... no. Just their $11/hr (In Chicago, with no benefits). Makes me sick.

I've stayed at that exact hotel more than a few times and enjoyed a few meals at the Capitol while in Chicago meeting clients before the pandemic. From the stories they'v told me Chicago is a PITA right now.

A few years ago on a business trip I stayed in the Doubletree by the Navy Pier and ate lunch at Joe’s Seafood & Steak. I saw some guy wearing an A&M shirt and gave him a “Go Frogs” as I walked by.

I was in Chicago recently and experienced having to show a vax card to eat at a restaurant. If I had not been with a group, I would have just left.
You should have just shown a Texas DL instead and see if they would have waved you through.

That's where I'm at, though. Now that I know that these cities require it I'm going to consciously stay out of those cities or decline invitations to eat in the city (and maybe suggest a restaurant in a suburb). I have Elton John tickets for March and would have a tough time refusing to show the card for that, but I'm 95% sure that concert will be postponed again anyway

I’ve been to Florida and NYC the last two weeks.

I had to show my ID to:
  • Get on an airplane
  • Rent a car
  • Check in at hotels
  • Rent bicycles
  • Go on a fishing boat
  • Ride on Amtrak
  • Eat at several restaurants in NYC — plus proof of vaccination
  • Get into business offices in NYC — plus proof of vaccination

Man, this country sure has become racist since Biden took office.
When you say ID, do you mean a Vax card?

I like to show my concealed carry license.
