  1. Even though millions of unvaccinated people of all ages have had COVID and experienced very mild symptoms, he is "certain" his symptoms would be far worse had he not been vaccinated.

    Based on what?

Why not just be accurate and say "there's a chance my symptoms could have been a lot worse".
  2. I believe that the border situation is 100% proof that COVID is a scamdemic that is being used as a means to justify the ends of political power.

If COVID really were serious, the border would be closed
  3. I say again:

But were the previous orders allowed to lapse, or were they being ignored?

It's a good thing this administration caught on to this only several days after this board did...

  4. More like months.
  5. They absolutely are and as a white male, I have to check my privilege so I won't be getting the vaccine until all minorities are vaccinated.

    Isn't that how this works?
  6. based upon recent reports from the cdc not sure how well it actually works if you are talking about the vaccine

  7. I know this will be perceived as non-news or virus porn or whatever but this is what it sounds like when an area gets rapid growth of severe cases and the local hospital system starts feeling system stress:

A little more than two weeks ago, the Baton Rouge hospital had 36 Covid-19 patients, O’Neal said. That number is now 155.

“No one diagnosis should take up one quarter of your hospital,” O’Neal said. “We no longer think we’re giving adequate care to anybody, because these are the darkest days of the pandemic.”

I don’t think anything more should be done other to really encourage vaccination and the LA mask mandate is fine. Hopefully it peaks and subsides quickly and more importantly doesn’t become widespread. One hospital system or one area going through this is one thing but if this becomes a whole region that’s something else.

  8. Unfortunately, the name calling and threats from the administration, the media and corporations are making some people I know less likely to get vaccinated.

As long as the vaccine is safe and effective, people will decide to get it. But when the President starts insulting people who haven’t gotten it yet and the media demonizes people them, it’s going to make people suspicious and defensive.

Biden is doing a horrible job handling this.
  9. https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/...-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html

After December 31, 2021, CDC will withdraw the request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the CDC 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, the assay first introduced in February 2020 for detection of SARS-CoV-2 only. CDC is providing this advance notice for clinical laboratories to have adequate time to select and implement one of the many FDA-authorized alternatives.

  11. I don’t know. Let’s be real. There are some people looking for an excuse to not get vaccinated. I mean to be fair I get it. You make a decision (in this case to not get vaccinated) and the human tendency is to double down on that decision, particularly when you feel pressured. That’s normal, and happens a lot with a lot of different decisions. I don’t think it is fair to blame the ones putting “pressure” on them though. It may not be the most effective way to increase vaccinations but really don’t think there are too many people out there who, if not for what Biden or the media or corporations do to say, would be vaccinated. They made the decision first and there indignation came second.

  12. So you’re not really interested in how to encourage people to get vaccinated. Noted

  13. No I’m very interested, as you know. I’ve posted several articles on the subject. I just think your blame was misplaced.

edit: I mean that while “shaming” people to get vaccinated doesn’t help, I really don’t think it hurts. People choosing not get vaccinated may point to that shaming as a reason they aren’t going to get vaccinated, but those people probably aren’t going to get vaccinated anyway.
  14. How to encourage people to get vaccinated:

    1. Stop telling vaccinated people they can't change their behavior and need to mask up.
    2. Stop censoring information about vaccine side effects
    3. Have a vaccine that is fully approved by the FDA
  15. Just got the email from Corporate that we are required to wear masks, vaccinated or not, while in the office. My incentive to actually go into the office (already low) is now non-existent. What a [ #2020 ]show
  16. I assume you didn’t make the meme but just FYI..
