Sorry, but over 45 years of dislike for everything Aggie, I can in no way congratulate him or wish him luck in any way.

A friend of mine was officiating one of his playoff games when he was in high school and called a penalty against him. His response was to come up to my friend and ask him how he could call anything against him along with, "Don't you know who I am?"

Seems to be a lot of similar anecdotes floating around. The more I hear, the more a significant "sophomore slump", or worse, sounds likely.

The thing is that with his numbers, even a significant sophomore slump could be a good season. If he only rushes for 1,000 yards and passes for 3,000 it is a significant slump.

Aggies are legitimately a couple of plays from playing in the SEC Championship Game and possibly the MNC. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Congrats Johnny Heisman!

DISCLAIMER - my GF is an Aggie and I must say the hate factor has somewhat worn off.

My wife is an Aggie and I still gagged at all of the "whooping" on facebook. I don't know if any of you watch College Football Live, but these last few weeks have been brutal with all of the segments dedicated to Johnny Football. I thought ESPN was shamelessly promoting him over the other Heisman candidates right up to the ceremony.

I'm supposed to be proud that a good old Texas Boy won it, but do I have to like it? I don't like anything that promotes any other Texas school over TCU. Just the way I was raised I guess.

By the way...my wife doesn't own a single maroon outfit. She has been purplefied.

It's obvious Manziel deserved the award, so congratulations to him and to A&M (I can't believe I just said that).

However, it will be interesting to see how he performs without Mathews and Joeckel, if and when they leave for The League.
