I don't get all the Manziel hate. It is not like TCU wanted him. TCU wanted Boykin instead. Why the hate for Manziel when he didn't pick A&M over TCU.

It's not hate for Manziel, it's acknowledging Aggie success. It's very similar to Baylor last year... a good season with a great player and you'd think they're the best football team of all-time. It's just annoying to me. No doubt the kid deserved the award, but the last thing college football fans need is A&M fans actually having some reason to be cocky. They're plenty arrogant after having done nothing over the last decade.

It is likely generalized Aggy-hate ruboff. In a down year he performed well enough to win the award so I give him proper respect but I can't say I do it with relish. The semi-rural whoop of Aggies pollutes my fb timeline right now, that is for sure.

I don't think people HATE Manziel, it's just the fact that his team finished third in their division, lost two games and he's a Freshman (biggest issue of all).

I was watching the presentation last night and was somewhat pulling for Manziel just because I liked a Texas kid winning as a freshman, thought he was an exciting kid, etc.

Just before the award was announced, three Aggies walked in. I was quickly reminded of the reasons I can't stand those folks. I hadn't mentioned any affiliation, was just sitting there in an uncrowded room, only three tables of folks total. Next I get Gomer telling me how Manziel would have had 9,200 yards in the Big 12 since it was twice as easy as the mighty SEC, how Manziel can now be the first 4-time winner of the Heisman, and it just kept going.

I bit my tongue, kind of. Couldnt' help but ask if the Big 12 was so easy, why did the Aggies struggle so bad for so many years.

The Aggies had sort of faded into the background over the last decade or so as their teams hung around 4th-5th place in the Big 12 South. Now they're coming out of the woodwork again. Aggie flags around town that haven't been there in 20 years.

Good for the kid, but I regret pulling for him. In the end, Baylor gave him the trophy. If KSU finishes 12-0, Klein likely gets the nod.

On a different note, what an incredibly weak year for the Heisman. None of those three finalists would have sniffed the top 5 last year.

There's just a lot of hate on this board for the Agro-American community.

I laughed.

On another note, how difficult do yall think it will be for him to play three more years after winning this? The expectations for him to make plays will be through the roof. I think it will be a big challenge for him mentally to play within himself and the system and not to force things trying to continue to live up to what he's created.

Weak year for the Heisman. Don't think so, with the Notre Dame guy and all their pub. Plus the KState guy was incredible.

Manziel broke all the SEC records and made Cam look like a p ant. You had to give it to him..

The thing all the evaluators missed on Johnny was his terrific feet. The guy has tremendous stamina to go along with the quickest feet, maybe ever. Watched a lot of those replays and a couple games during the year. You couldn't keep up with all the times he made people miss in the open field. Shifty won't describe his ability...

Will be interesting one day,to see how the pros look at him.
