Was scared he'd drop to the 2nd round when the Jets and 'Fins passed him up, but I think he'll do well in Indy. And the commentators had a good point, he has a hell of a mentor in Dwight Freeny in Indy. Would have been nice to seem him with the Jets and be with LT, but not gonna gripe about his spot.

When you think about all the sacrifices this guy has made for TCU - position switch, coming back for his senior year, plus all the community work he's done - it all worked out and it couldn't happen to a better guy. Jerry, you will be missed. Glad we get to keep watching you on Sundays.

What a great organization to go to, Polian is a class guy and has a great eye for talent. Should be a great experience to learn from Freeney. Was hoping Daryl would go to the Saints he should be taken quickly.

McShay and Van Pelt just talked Jerry up on Sportscenter.

Congrat Jerry,

I hope I speak for everyone here at TCU by wishing you best of luck and know that you are a class act and will do the Colts and the NFL proud. You deserve it man!

Although it is great to have your player picked really early, that usually means that the team is awful, too. Look at how the talent of Earl Campbell and LT were wasted by going to a poor team, where they had to be the entire offense and got all beat up.

Jerry is going to a great team, with a real chance of going to the Super Bowl.

Bill Polian does not miss on 1st round picks, Hughes will make us proud for many years to come as a Colt, great how things played out for him

Jerry will be an excellent contributor for the Indy defense. They need help with the run and he will provide just that. Whether they leave him at DE or move him to OLB (more likely in my opinion) he will do well. Hate to see him leave TCU, but love seeing him go to a very solid team in the Colts.

I am very happy for Jerry! He's going to be absolute murder playing opposite Freeney!

Let me just say, as a Saints fan - Watching the last few picks leading up to ours felt like half a freakin' orgasm.

Yeah, I don't think that could have worked out any better for him as far as team, defensive scheme and philosophy.
