Conference Strength One More Angle

May not be 100% accurate as I did this fast but here are the major schools SEC and ND compared to the Big 12 schools based on the number of Bowl eligble teams they played this season.

OSU 10
ISU 9
KSU 9 (Miami)
OU 9
TCU 9
Texas 9
A&M 9
ND 9 (Miami)
Oregon 8
LSU 7
Fla 7
Bama 6
Georgia 5

I think WV and Tech were both 8 but I actually forgot to look at Tech.

Pretty tough to play "every other week" in and out as an SEC team.

At least GA and Bama get an extra this week. LOL

I guess South Carolina doesn't qualify as major SEC in your opinion, but nevertheless I'll offer that we played 6 bowl eligible teams and 4 of those were in the top 11 at kick-off. We're 10-2 with losses to the current #4 and #7 and wins over the current #3 and #14 (AP Poll) and we're still 3rd in our own division and #7 in the bowl pecking order for the SEC. In short, I think the logic is flawed.

I personally hate the blind SEC homerism and pull against every team in the conference other than USC. I see no point in rooting for teams you play and recruit against - has always blown my mind. I especially hate the ridiculous S-E-C chant at games, but on the other hand, I also watch a ton of college football from all conferences and won't argue the SEC is in a league of its own.

The us (insert Big 12, Pac 12, etc.) vs. SEC argument reminds me of UT and TAMU. One side uses the other as a measuring stick and the other side doesn't care.
