Must say that I'm a little surprised that with two unseeded teams facing each other in the game, they lined TCU up as the home team against Florida St. It's right, I'm just surprised to see it.

I guess beating the higher seeded team in the Supers is the determining factor there.

Only three national seeds made it through. It had to happen.

For the opening round games, I think they base it purely on the national seeding associated with the super regional. We came out of the SR with the #2 seed, FSU came out of the SR associated with the #7 seed (Louisville, who didn't even make it out of their region). So we are assuming the role of the #2 seed even though we're not actually the #2 seed, FSU is assuming the role of the #7 seed ...

That was the beauty of getting past Texas as the no. 2 national seed, we move into the no. 2 spot and we get to avoid Arizona State until the finals round. Looking at the teams in the CWS, Az St is the only one that is close to TCU in team batting average TCU .345 Az St .341, and is is just behind us in runs per game (8.9 to 8.6). When you combine that with the fact that Az St has a better team ERA (3.1 to 3.48) and a better overall record, they are the one team I would rather not face in until the finals.

*all stats are through the regional games but don't include the super-regionals.
