Sonny Dykes says Curt Cignetti's Josh Hoover shade toward TCU was fair​

Curt Cignetti's criticisms of the situation new Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover left at TCU were more than fair. At least, according to Horned Frogs coach Sonny Dykes.

The Hoosiers' coach addressed the turnover problems that marred otherwise strong play from Hoover in Fort Worth during spring practice, joking that Hoover met his two new "best friends" — a strong defense and run game — when he arrived in Bloomington.

At Big 12 media days on Wednesday, Dykes said that Cignetti's comments were mostly fair and that he is working to improve in both those areas in 2026.

All QBs have them. Some more than others. Hoov is not going to be put in nearly as many opportunities to make a bad read or pass now that he is out from under Briles.

IMO, Briles had his head so far up Hoover's behind that he couldn't see the mistakes he was making. Or worse, he just wanted a 10,000 yard QB that would get him his next gig.
