I’m very happy for Scott Cross but I hate to see him go. Sunday night I was looking across the court wondering how much longer we would have him; not long I figured. Anyway best wishes to him and his family.

Since we are talking basketball how about Majerus. A really, really good BB coach...but his being dead probably would hurt his contributions to the team.

Majerus made the best halftime adjustment I have ever seen in basketball (but since my basketball knowledge is pretty light, I may have seen other better adjustments but did not know it.) Against the Frogs in 1997. Malcolm Johnson was killing the Utes from way, way out; he couldn't miss. In the second half they didn't get in his face (which was almost impossible that night: he would just take a couple of steps back and still make it). Rather they just kept the ball out of his hands; there were always one or two players between Johnson and the ball at all times. Can't shoot the ball if you don't have the ball. I was really frustrated...I thought we would win that game. We did not have the inside presence would have the next year with Nailon.

I was going to comment "thank goodness it isn't" but didn't want it to seem like I was glad Scott is leaving either.
