The TCU Horned Frogs are back in the spotlight as attention shifts to wide receiver Eric McAlister’s injury just days before the 2026 NFL Draft. The development places added focus on his draft outlook while raising questions about recovery timelines and long-term evaluation.

McAlister entered the pre-draft process as a productive but fringe prospect. However, the injury introduces uncertainty at a critical moment, potentially impacting where he falls on draft boards across the league.

During TCU’s Pro Day, McAlister completed several drills before experiencing discomfort in his foot. He reportedly ran a 4.56-second 40-yard dash and participated in multiple route exercises before exiting early, prompting further evaluation.

Hello UFA. Good luck to E-Mac on a full recovery.
Side note: I never heard about his 2024 arrests and drug test result. Was this reported and I missed it?

Yes, I remember cracking a joke about every time he got arrested he seemed to find the end zone so he should get arrested more frequently.

On a more serious note I wish him a speedy recovery and the best of luck in the pros. I really enjoyed watching him play.

EMac will be a steal if he is picked late in the draft. If he can stay on the field, he will make an impact as a rookie. Dude is a playmaker.
He will have a lot of trouble with the physicality of the game and separating from CBs, much like most other TCU WRs from the past decade that played in the NFL.

He's a less explosive and athletic version of QJ with better hands, we'll see where that gets him.
