Former TCU star’s feel-good story continues after Patriots roster decision​

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel made the surprising decision to keep an undrafted rookie over Kindle Vildor.

For every highly touted prospect in the NFL Draft who hears his name called, there is an unheralded player waiting for a chance that may never come. An example of the latter was Channing Canada, who went undrafted in April after a notable three-year stint at TCU.

A month later, he was picked up by the New England Patriots. It was a second shot at achieving his dream of making it to the NFL. It would be a shame to waste it. Canada put his head down and went to work.

The 24-year-old cornerback joined training camp without the security or the benefit of the doubt of being a blue-chip prospect. With no draft status to fall back on, Canada had to make himself impossible to overlook.
