Figure this could use its own thread. And to kick it off, some good news, China is #1!!!!

"China now accounts for 27% of the total global emissions, while the U.S. only accounts for 11%. India now accounts for the third highest output of emissions at 6.6%, outpacing Europe for the first time."

But they make cheap ship using child labor, so everyone turns a blind eye. China's bad is outpacing their good, whatever that good may be..

It seems likely that if the world let China exist in true isolation like we do N Korea it wouldn’t be long before they go the way of the Soviet Union in the 80s. And if you care about it, cleaner skies there.

the cow is long out of the barn in regards to trying to isolate china in a manner similar to n korea

just not possible and you can also see the impact of china acting on their own behalf in the construction of some dams for hydroelectric that have had drastic impact on some rivers and economies in se asia

By impact you are referring to flooding?

actually the other way around. they aren't experiencing the rainy seasons and rivers and lakes are starting to dry up

entire communities in thailand, vietnam etc... that have lived through fishing and trade up and down the rivers are being cut off from water by china

I think last year there was some flooding and potential breach. But overall, not a positive experience.

the irony is, the dams were built in an attempt to reduce china's need for coal and other fossil fuel powered generating plants

they are an enormous, growing economy and i don't see they or india willingly hamstringing their economic growth

there is no perfect source of energy at this time and while i agree with protecting the environment etc..... we simply aren't going to be able to remove petroleum products from over lives or put that genie back in the bottle

Problem is we have politicians who can and will remove petroleum products from our lives, further enhancing China’s competitive position.

Sen. Johnson demands answers from Fauci about US funding of Wuhan lab research: 'What were we doing cooperating with China?'

Johnson made an appearance on "Sunday Morning Futures," where Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo opened the interview by highlighting a report in The Australian that claimed Chinese military scientists discussed the weaponization of SARS coronaviruses five years before the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, which could empower China to create weapons "in a way never seen before." China's People's Liberation Army commanders were predicting that World War III would be fought with biological weapons, according to documents purportedly obtained by U.S. investigators, the Daily Mailreported.

Whoops

China on Monday denied a report that three Wuhan Institute of Virology employees were hospitalized with possible coronavirus symptoms in November 2019, a claim that if true would further fuel debate over the origins of the pandemic.

When asked about whether the virus originated naturally, Fauci said that he wants to look closer into the matter, according to Fox News

"I am not convinced about that, I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened," Fauci said, speaking to PolitiFact's Katie Sanders at an event

It may be tough to get a statement since the three Wuhan Institute of Virology employees were probably forwarded for antiviral therapy in the incinerator.
