Thoughts? The thought of SMU AND Boise State getting first round byes is a beautiful thing to imagine being discussed around water coolers in SEC and B1G country. LOL!

I love what this format has done for college football. It has made every game meaningful the entire season and kept 25+ programs “in the hunt” for a chance at a national championship down the stretch. This has been a fantastic change that I wish had been in place during the height of the GMFP era. Oh what might have been…

I feel bad Army got left out after such an outstanding season that isn’t even over yet.

If SMU or Boise lose, Big 12 winner likely will have a bye. If no upset from those two, Big 12 winner might pass Alabama for 11th. Although if ASU might prefer the 12 seed since if the upset the 5 seed likely play at Fiesta (location of quarterfinals depend on historic bowl relationships of champs, so likely Oregon to Rose, Texas to Sugar. SMU if they win probably Peach and Boise to Fiesta?) Hopefully one of SMU and Bose lose.

It says Alabama on their jerseys. That's the information you need. And by you, I mean the committee.
Meh, when I look at the standings I don't really see anyone below them that has much of a case that they should be ahead of them, other than we just have to complain that Alabama is a blue blood and argue against them somehow.

Alabama beat Wisconsin by 32 points in Madison, beat Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, and LSU. Yeah, yeah, I know you're gonna say all those teams suck but show me the resumes of teams you think should be higher than Alabama and let's see what impresses about them, all the good wins they have without bad losses. This was entirely predictable when they went to a 12-team playoff.

Alabama also lost to 6-6 Vanderbilt. And yes, Wisconsin kinda sucks this year.

Yep, they did. And yes, they do. But Penn State won in Madison by 15. Oregon won there by 3. Alabama beat them by 32. I'm not a big fan of those kinds of arguments, but I see a lot of silly stuff the other direction too.

Let's take a look at the teams ranked below them and assess their good wins and bad losses. I could maybe make an argument for Miami but not any others.

I think the beauty of all this is that the SEC has created a system that works against them by consolidating so many “name” programs into one conference.
