Not sure why one deserves and not the other. Perry ended up 10th in the nation on punts. Sure Marshall's Williams had a .03 better average but also 13 less punts. I say congrats to both Perry and Fields! Job well done! Freshman showing seniors how to do their jobs in my opinion!

I'm certainly not suggesting our punter doesn't deserve it. I just hadn't realized where he stood in relation to other freshman punters.

I apologize if taken wrong! I always check my stats on cfb and is accurate. Too bad they don't have an all redshirt freshman team because we would have a few on that one too!

It is a shame that most remember 2 shanked punts.

Agreed! Ethan was a workhorse throughout the season, and richly deserves this recognition.

Fields has garnered the biggest headlines, and rightfully so - but Perry has been outstanding, for the most part.

Nobody bats .1000.

Go Frogs!

This list included redshirt freshmen too. The ones with asterisk redshirted.

"* Indicates redshirt freshman." Yep I screw up often But that's life for me these days. I was looking at the Awards from yesterday and it just kills me how things ended this year. We had so many on the early award lists and with injuries they fell off the radar. Next year I'm hoping we have two national award winners but the possibilities are endless. Fields and Perry didn't have anyone but seniors above them this year in stats. Verrett should continue to pile awards up as long as he stays healthy and Carter wasn't too far behind him so a tweak or two may be in the mix. Then Magango and Pachall should be back healthy wreaking havoc on both sides of the ball.

Really think Verrett should have been on that list. Compare his stats to the CBs they picked - he has way more interceptions and way more passes defended. I know, I know - maybe the other guys didn't get the ball thrown to them as much because they were such coverage monsters. But still seems like a bit of a ripoff.

Verrett is not a freshman.

On their (non Fr) All American Picks, Fields didn't make even the 3rd team for DEs.... considering he was Big 12 D player of the year .?.

Cheers !
