Casey Pachall vs Boise Video - Fun to watch

Saw this video on my YouTube recommend to watch list or whatever... pretty good stuff. Fun to watch us beat Boise and remember how great our passing game was against Boise. For everyone hating on our OLine this year (me included), apparently there were multiple times last year where the gameplan was to let the defensive line run straight through the middle on plays that aren't screen passes. Pachall got crushed continually.

Also forgot how clutch that two minute drive was at the end of the game... 11:15 in the video, 3rd and 7 over the middle... great play, threw it right as he's getting smashed. The pass he makes to JJones at 11:32 in the video is remarkable, and a great run.

No disrespect to Trevone, because I think he did an incredible job considering the circumstances this year, but if (and I know it's a big if) CP comes back with his head screwed on straight, there's no question he's our no. 1 next season.

Boyce's catch on the two point conversion was probably a tougher catch than the 4th down play at the end of the OU game. Sometimes it is just one player coming up with the individual play that makes the difference. Question. If Boyce makes that catch to make it 24-23 does GP go for two? or play for the OT?

Ooooh! That's actually a toughie. OU was wearing down and we were beginning to move the ball on them. But, with a more experienced QB, they probably win in OT.

Go for 2.

We were going for two all the way. And Josh Boyce was going to go on the right side of the field and catch a pass that should be intercepted. That's how it was going to happen.

He can flat fling it! I'm proud of Boykin like we all are, but Casey is at another level.

Actually, the last time they were in OT, was against WV and we won... but it was because we made it going for two in the second OT.

GP has coached differently on the road vs. at home (as many coaches do). Play for the tie at home and the win on the road. BUT since he has acknowledged that we play better on the road this year, maybe he ought to have taken the more aggressive approach at home.

My vote, would be to go for it. The kids would have been sky high at that point if they had made the TD and I'd have been willing to take the shot. Of course if the refs really were out to make sure OU won, they would have called an offensive pass interference, and a couple of dead ball personal fouls and we would have had to try a 60 yard extra point to tie after that...

This video just gives me chills!! First of all, Pachall will be back as the starter, and Boykin will be used as well. The play book is going to be lethal!!! For all you doubters about Pachall. Let it go and wish the kid the best for heaven sake!!

To be fair, maybe the title of the thread should be TCU v. Boise with Casey Pachall at QB. That was a team win in which he played an important role. I would also give some props to Justin Fuente who had a great game plan that day after losing his mind in the Fiesta Bowl.

Two plays at the beginning of that game, both with Pachall under center and two backs behind him... have we done this formation once this season? I can't remember the last time we've been under center. First play was the first TD pass to Boyce,

2nd play is the very next offensive play where we are backed up to our goal line and Pachall takes the snap, fakes the handoff and rolls to his left and makes a great throw to Boyce on the sideline (possibly the best play of the game)

Why would we want to use play action or throw a vertical pass out of a power run formation when the challenge of running a play where the defense knows exactly what you are going to do is apparently so exhilarating?

We have put Boyking under center twice. The first was at UT our first play, second was against OU in the fourth quarter. Both inside our own 5 with 2 tight ends, play action and a deep pass over the middle.

Would have love to see more of Boykin under center with play action, rolling right. Give him the run/pass option.

Let's say it again.........Josh Boyce is a freaking STUD!!!

The play calling in that game is light years ahead of anything we have seen this year (I know some of it is due to the personnel we are working with this year, but still)!
