Can't Blame the Players on the Weak 2013 Recruiting Class

Certainly one of the best ways to measure a coaching staff is by recruiting, it's an area where they can't blame their players.

This class is looking like a C+ or B- at best. Most importantly there is no QB and only a few big bodies, OLs and DLs. More S/LB tweeners.

Kids have changed a lot in the last few years, they're not as mature, they are more socially diverse and more politically united and it doesn't appear recruits look forward to playing for a bunch of older coaches like we have. George Bush and the Republicans have left white male babyboomers with a terrible image and our current President has taught young people and even women not to be afraid of the GOP and that party's angry hillbilly following.

I worry that Gary is losing his youthful charm and ability to relate to the players and after they get here he can't seem to corral them in and keep them out of trouble like he used to. He needs some younger coaches for his offense, we clearly missed Fuente's ambition this year. We need coaches who can look at players and the players' mothers straight in the eye and tell them he voted for Barrack and he thinks and feels like they do.

You truly are an ARSE. Your basing your comments on your extensive recruiting. Experience? Your understanding of GP plans? Because they have done well given how bad you think they recruit why has OU stopped working Texas as hard as in past?

How's that working for UT...stable of young asst coaches & under-achieving on the field and slowly now in recruiting... Nice write-up but not buying the stock

We lost 7 games over 4 years from 2008-2010 with a recruiting class that wasnt near as good as the ones we have had the past two years.

Go back and look at the recruiting rankings. Look at what this staff did with guys like Ballard, Hughes, Dalton, and Kerley, then look at the rankings of Fields, Carter, and Matthews. Imagine what this staff will do with these guys.

Not saying I agree with SF, but wasn't this suppose to be the year the Rose Bowl paid off in recruiting? Even Patterson made that statement last year on signing day. Don't get me wrong, I like the kids we have committed. I just thought we wouldn't still be struggling to get the better recruits to come here.

What amazes me I'd that Scarface was a regular poster on here for some time before he went full troll. That means that at some point the troll decided to create a Froggiepants-esque handle, and milk it as a real persona for more than a year just to lure us into trusting it.

Whoever this troll is, he literally has no life.

I don't even know who he is trolling or how he is intending on doing it, though. I mean, being stuck on TCU joining the Pac-12 is weird enough...but this is definitely the strangest post he's ever made.

Go look at the schools who have offered our currently committed players in the 2013 recruiting class. It's too small in my opinion (but you can't sign 25 every year if you don't have that many slots available), but the quality of the kids committed is good. It's not all 4 and 5 star, but it's a pretty solid class based on the many other programs who have offered these guys scholarships.

I agree that we need a few more O-Linemen and D-Linemen. I would also like to see a couple of CBs. Other than that, we just need to keep the recruits we have committed already, add a few more to the class, and develop the players we already have. The sky is not falling.
