Ok Paint It Purple - 1) get off your high horse - no one wants anything but good outcomes for the victim or TCU and if you are not giving a critical view to TCU even if we bleed purple, then that is part of the problem - anyone who loves TCU should be pissed FOR the student athlete and secondly protective of TCU in a sense that all those involved should have acted more proactively - the victim is the only one that matters - not TCU's reputation, not someone's job, nothing else 2) no one is attacking a trainer - they have leaders, there are coaches, managers all in the same building with a higher duty of responsibility than a trainer 3) It does not take Doogie Houser or your attempt to be him to determine that when someone is knocked unconscious, then additionally forcibly kicked in the head by a freaking D1 college football player - a third strike (punch, floor, foot) and is then being physically carried by athletes yelling for help to 1) call 911 for emergency medical care and 2) call the scheissing police THEN. Not doing so LOOKS like a blatant effort to keep this quiet (right or wrong assumption - thats how it looks). 3) Anyone managing the care of student athletes and in the duty of a university HAS to act immediately, not in 15 minutes, not in an hour, not two hours later when the hospital says "brain bleed" and "this could be life threatening" and then the guy is sent to the ICU.
This is hopefully just a lesson for all involved and nothing more. You can damn well guarantee TCU legal is looking at this saying "scheiss!" and policies and training will be enacted going forward. From the second he was knocked out on TCU property, everyone working for TCU had one job - get medical and police on sight immediately if nothing more than to exhibit appropriate duty of care and keep the blame where it belongs - with the suspect, not in how things are handled or mishandled after. Better to overreact than sit their hoping all is well and no one finds out about this (how it looks even if that is not how it was intended). I mean did the victim go in into ICU that day, then they wait until the following day to tell the police? No he went that day. The police were called the following day. Is it even plausible that the AD, SD, Pullin were not aware that a paid athlete was laying in a hospital ICU with a brain bleed that night? They knew. Police called the next day? As a TCU alum, no bleeping way we can view this as right. WTAF.
And the warrant cannot be questioned now - the suspect confessed in writing... your suggesting the officers recorded it wrong, recorded the written apology wrong, recorded the chronological times and dates wrong? No.
