One of the Golf Magazine experts (hard to tell who, since Andrew Tursky is listed twice) picks SnoSki's BIL Johannes Veerman as his darkhorse for the Open Championship.

Without spending $20 on an Easy Office Pool, let's play it this way:

Pick 4 players in the Open Championship field. Your team should include:

- no more than 1 player from the following group (odds of 20:1 or less).
Jon Rahm 7-1
Bryson DeChambeau 14-1
Dustin Johnson 15-1
Rory McIlroy 16-1
Xander Schauffele 16-1
Brooks Koepka 16-1
Justin Thomas 20-1
Jordan Spieth 20-1

- at least 1 Englishman (not full UK). There's a bunch (feel free to look up all of them), but the highest ranked include:
Richard Bland
Paul Casey
Matthew Fitzpatrick
Tommy Fleetwood
Tyrrell Hatton
Ian Poulter
Justin Rose
Matt Wallace
Lee Westwood
Danny Willett

Other 2 outside of the top group are up to you. Winner will be combined total score of top 3 of 4 players. Anyone who misses the cut gets assigned 80 for last 2 rounds.

Respond with your foursome. I'm going with:

Johnson
Fitzpatrick
Fowler
Detry

Thanks for the shoutout!

I’ll roll with Rahm, Fleetwood, MacIntyre and Veerman!

EDIT: swapped Rose for Shane Lowry
EDIT 2: Lowry's not English. Keeping Lowry and swapping Poulter for Cantlay

Veerman just birdied 16 to get to -3
When that happened he moved to T7 and first page of the leaderboard. Unfortunately he bogeyed 17 and then made par at 18.

he was paired with Jason Day and Joost Luiten (euro guy) for the first two rounds. Neither of those two played well but I think Day’s presence might’ve been enough pressure to get J to play better.

now he is T21 I think and it looks like he will be playing with one of the big names tomorrow. Will be fun to see which one. Guessing Webb Simpson or Matt Wallace.

I had a dream he shot 59. I don’t have the gift of prophecy so probably nothing but maybe it’s a sign that a fun weekend lies ahead!

anyone know how high he needs to finish to get a return invite next year or a masters appearance? Guessing top 3?
