Boyce's 94-yard catch vs. WVU

Just watched that again on YT with the TV commentary. So funny, because it is pretty clear that the announcer's tone of voice reflects as "Hey, wow, big play for TCU", never dreaming that a TD could be scored. But as Boyce angles toward the defender to his right, and then curves back to the sideline, the announcer realizes, "Holy Crap, he's gonna score!"

Fun moment.

Yea, there's a point there where he's just saying matter of fact "Boykin slings it out to Boyce", then when the afterburners kick in he literally screams "BOYCE"...

"THE IMPOSSIBLE!"

I hadn't noticed LDBrown's speed there either -- and he wasn't even the ball carrier. Just running a Horned Frog convoy right into that endzone!

Look at Boykin's throw. Rolling to the right he has to semi-hop to throw back to his right and flicks it 40 yards on a rope. Pretty impressive arm strength.

Yeah, that's something that has been missing for the last few weeks, for whatever reason. I have no doubt that he'll work on becoming more consistent this offseason, and it starts with mechanics.

It almost seems like when he's standing in the pocket he's thinking about it too much, but on plays like this one, it's all just a natural reaction.

What I always found odd about that play is our sideline reaction. I think even our players didn't think we had a chance of coming back until that play. None of them start to jump up and down until the very last second. Like they were thinking even a 50 yard gain wouldn't accomplish anything. Man, that was unreal!

Does this end up being Play of the Year for the Frogs? We really needed that win at that point in the season. Huge!
Yes. I'd also nominate Jason Verrett's blocked field goal in the same game in terms of importance.

I'd nominate Devonte's interception of Optimus Klein - but it was in a losing effort.

Wow - never noticed Brown till you guys pointed it out! What speed! With that big stride he reminds me (just a little  ) of Usain Bolt.

Man...I know pass protection is an issue, but boy, I wonder why we don't more often just send Brown (and Boyce) - SO BIG AND STRONG -down the sidelines and let Boykin heave a long pass and let 'em go after it.

I'm not a football guy, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around not finding more ways to get these guys - with their obvious advantages - involved.

Yes, I know it has happened...I remember LDB vs Tech, etc... But it is pretty rare. Maybe they do it, and Boykin either doesn't see them or doesn't have the time... The stronger defenses have come in the second half of the season.

Related - you could put Brandon Carter with 10 other guys, all wearing the same outfit, all running down the field, with me in the stands, and I could pick out Carter very quickly. They way he looks when he runs is very distinctive.

It's painful how we are completely ignoring/not able to use our biggest strength.

BCarter kind of gallops when he runs.

I'm typically very quiet when watching a game, not overly emotional on the extreme positive or negative side and definitely not the ranting rambling negative type, but that play for that game was the beginning of many shouts and eventually celebration yells around my living room once the game concluded. What's funny is that there were plenty of opportunities to do so in such a limited time (or play is probably the better phrase once overtime started) span.

Yes...yes....yes...so far. One game to go but it gets my vote. We got to get these guys in the game more. The ultimate goal is just win by one.
