It would benefit the Big 12 if Tech made a deep run, but I also hope they lose on Saturday, make the playoffs, and lose in the first round.
Big brane.
Win, win situation! It would benefit the Big 12 if Tech made a deep run, but I also hope they lose on Saturday, make the playoffs, and lose in the first round.
Pop Tarts should pay out about $6 million to participating conferences. Not bad for semi-pro football.![]()
College football bowl projections: Where things stand after conference title game chaos
After some unexpected outcomes on championship weekend, the bowl schedule has been thrown into flux.www.nytimes.com
Now its saying Pop Tarts bowl against ND.
Dont tell a certain KF poster.
TCU vs ND...has a nice ring to it.
Go Frogs!
Nothing good will come of that....TCU vs ND...has a nice ring to it.
Go Frogs!
In 1972, holding Notre Dame to 3 TDs at ND was an accomplishment....However, Frogs started with a 4-1 season then the loss to ND started a 1-5 last half of the season....In Dan Jenkins's 1991 "You Gotta Play Hurt," TCU and ND played in the Cotton Bowl...game finished 21-21 on a TCU extra point with 2 secs on the clock....Voters in AP voted TCU champion and Coaches Poll voters picked Michigan....
- When: October 28, 1972
- Where: At Notre Dame — that is, in South Bend, Indiana
- Score: Notre Dame won 21–0.
I have the program for that game. My father covered it for the FWST.

Also, caught the Irish after a home loss to Missouri, 30-26.In 1972, holding Notre Dame to 3 TDs at ND was an accomplishment....However, Frogs started with a 4-1 season then the loss to ND started a 1-5 last half of the season....
We lost our quarterback in those first 5 games. Our back up was not that good. We even changed to a guy at the end who last played quarterback in high school and now is a dentist. He at least beat Texas Tech.In 1972, holding Notre Dame to 3 TDs at ND was an accomplishment....However, Frogs started with a 4-1 season then the loss to ND started a 1-5 last half of the season....In Dan Jenkins's 1991 "You Gotta Play Hurt," TCU and ND played in the Cotton Bowl...game finished 21-21 on a TCU extra point with 2 secs on the clock....Voters in AP voted TCU champion and Coaches Poll voters picked Michigan....

Toss out the Arizonas and Utah since they're not in our pool. I'm going to assume Tech beats BYU again and only Tech makes the playoffs from the Big XII. Iowa State holds a tiebreaker over us. That means we're in line for the 4th bowl in our pool, which is the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.
If BYU upsets Tech and they're both in the playoffs, then we bump up to the Texas Bowl in Houston.
That's how I read it. Go BYU!
I see what you did there…Russian bots tend to repeat themselves...
she's a total wb.You go girl!![]()
what's really crazy of is duke wins, and bama loses. You could have two 5 teams in The winner of University of North Texas/Tulane will likely jump JMU. If a second G5 team gets in, probably JMU. If duke wins, bama loses and JMU loses, and UNLV wins tonight. the second G5 considered would be UNLV.If Duke defeats Virginia and #25 James Madison wins the Sun Belt, then the ACC does not have an automatic way into the CFP. The ranked Sun Belt and American Athletic Conference champs are in. Duke isn’t ranked and won’t be, even with a win over Virginia.
The committee could then finagle reasoning to bump up Miami as the lone ACC rep, but will face harsh criticism since they now have ND and BYU ranked ahead of Miami. Otherwise, the ACC would be out of the playoff.
Maybe you have already covered that here and I suspect a Duke win at the expense of an ACC entry is what you all are rooting for.
Dumb. Money at stake for the program. You don't leave that decision to players. Their job, which they are now paid for, is to play.Just read that KSU will not accept a bowl bid this season.
I generally agree with this idea. And if Klieman had truly retired on his own iniative as @tmcats believes to be the case, then I'd be in full agreement. AD ought to say, "You're under contract for the season, finish the job and convince the players to play, or we'll dock you for the payout." Then, if Klieman wants to put the decision on the players, so be it.Dumb. Money at stake for the program. You don't leave that decision to players. Their job, which they are now paid for, is to play.
Ballers always wanna play.I generally agree with this idea. And if Klieman had truly retired on his own iniative as @tmcats believes to be the case, then I'd be in full agreement. But if the real story is that Klieman was forced out to make way for Klein, forgoing the bowl payout is just part of the transition cost. At that point, you can't expect the coach to coach, and you can't object to the coach, who's still technically in charge, putting the decision to the players. Price you pay for a graceful exit.
