Several years ago we bought an autographed Bob Gibson jersey and had it framed. He is a huge cardinals fan and BG was also is favorite all time player.

I was fortunate to be at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati JUl 3 1974 to see Bob throw his 3,000th strikeout.

1st Gayle Sayers, now Bob Gibson, in the same week. Both natives, I imagine Omaha is grieving big time.

Between Gibby and Drysdale they could throw at batters all game, very few batters ever challenged them (although, back the most guys just took like men).

Give me Gibson, Kaufax, Drysdale and Seaver as a rotation with Clemente, Mays and Aaron in the outfield, Robinson at 1st, Morgan at 2nd, Ozzie Smith or Wills at SS, Brooksie at 3rd in their prime and I’ll take all comers.
