Block in the back call vs. UT

I'm surprised nobody has brought this up yet. On our final offensive possession in the 4th quarter with about 2:30 left there was a late flag thrown on a run to the right by TCU.

Call was a block in the back on #3 Brandon Carter, but I watched the replay several times and it's UT's #4 Kenny Vaccaro that clearly shoves Brandon Carter in the back.

If the refs would have called it correctly, TCU would have gotten a first down and would have been able to end the game by running the clock out.

Obviously we won so its not a big deal but imagine if UT would have won it after that messed up call.

I saw it as well. It was a very suspect call at a critical time of the game. Illegal blocks in the back are very rarely called on the offensive; much more common on defense. They got it wrong and it all worked out whether intentional or not.

The way I remember it happening live was Brandon was a little in front of Vaccaro and thew his shoulder or back into him.

On the whole I thought the refs were about even all night. But those final few minutes did seem a little suspicious, to say the least.

The holding on the last 2 UT drives was ridiculous. Hope someone reviews that film with the refs and asks what they were watching/thinking...

I never said it was a "block in the back penalty" by Vaccaro.

Please go back and read my post before you start throwing out accusations that I don't know football. Then you can apologize for being a jerk. :)

Penalty should have been an unnecessary roughness call on Vaccaro.

should have quoted this to start with. Was referring to this.
