Big Mac Blog: Why this Horned Frog & former Cowboy need to flee their present location

By Muck Angle

CINCINNATI, Ohio – For those of you who bag on Jerry Jones you really need to watch a game at Paul Brown Stadium for some proper perspective.

Jerry may not always do a lot of things that are consistent with the late Tom Landry; what the Bengals do these days is all but spit on the legacy of the late Paul Brown, whose influence on pro football is in the same neighborhood as Landry’s.

It is why both former TCU quarterback Andy Dalton and Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer desperately need to get out of Cincy immediately. ...

where are the facts supporting his claim? thats the only thing i was waiting for as I was reading... I was saying to myself.. "oh, damn, maybe I am a little spoiled in my expectations for the cowboys... I wonder what the Bengals do to settle for mediocrity? was it something he saw at the stadium? something in the locker room?"

instead, it was just same ole Muck Angle at it again

Bengals also play in a pretty tough division. It would be lovely to be the NE Patriots and get to play Miami, Buffalo and the Jets for 6 games (over 1/3 of season) each year. I'm no Cincy fan, but they would win quite a few other divisions.

Yep, stupid article. AD has won more games than Jerry's team since the start of last year.

if anything, Mac should be writing an article about how Garrett and others need to bail on the Dallas franchise. At least the Bengals have a more positive outlook or "up side." Dallas simply flounders in mediocrity and has done so for 17 years. Why would a player or coach want to be under Jerry Jones and ruin his career in Dallas? You missed the boat here Mac. (And yes, I am a Cowboys fan).

The Bengals are one of the most poorly run franchises in the league. I wish Andy was somewhere else too.

Yup....the Bengals have been in this 'almost' position before. People here are only noticing because of Dalton. Mike Brown was Jerry Jones before Jerry was. No, that's not true....Brown is George Halas (throwing around nickels like manhole covers, to quote D!ck Butkus) only without Halas' knowledge of the game.

Guy is an idiot who makes a career and trying to be a shock jock. He only looks to write about things that will upset people, causing them to read about it and talk about it with other people. It is his career.

Dalton doesn't have a huge arm, but I did notice him throw a 50 yard pass with absolute ease to Green last Sunday. Suppose to have a huge arm, you have to throw it 80 yards from your knees these days.

Dalton's arm is fine... he seems to lack accuracy on the deep throw though. I've been able to watch a decent number of games this year and he's thrown a high number of deep passes out of bounds by a couple yards.

I have noticed he did that a couple times during the Cowboys game. I did notice it seemed he meant to on a couple as time was running out in the pocket and his WR was double covered. Not making an excuse, because I have seen plenty of open shots missed, but some are on purpose as well it seems.

In May, the Bengals tripled the size of their scounting department. They hired 2 guys.

Yep.

Not sure why so many are taking offense to this article. Cincy is a crappy franchise. I wish he was somewhere else too. You can say they are a "few pieces away" but they could also be a salary dump or injury away from being back in the celler wasting away andy's best years.

Look...no one loves bagging on the Cowboys more than me, but really? People complain here about how the Cowboys have won one or zero playoff games in the last 15 years (don't remember which), but the Bengals have only made the playoffs 5 times in the last 30 years. The Cowboys fans are spolied by their team's success from the mid 60s to the mid 90s. The Bengals success is singular - they never won the AFL and won only 2 AFC titles. The current Cowboys define mediocrity....the Bengals define suck.
