Big Mac Blog: This is not why Jason Verrett returned to TCU

By Muck Angle

Multiple sources have confirmed that TCU All-American junior defensive back Jason Verrett recently had surgery to repair a torn meniscus but that is not the reason he decided to return for his senior season.

On his Twitter account, @Jfeeva_2, he recently Tweeted "Everything went well, be back like I never left ....thankn the man n all support #Blessed B.A.M I'm Gucci"

Verrett apparently suffered the injury during TCU's win at Texas on Thanksgiving in 2012; he still played the final two games of the season - against Oklahoma and in the bowl game versus Michigan State. ...

A meniscus scope is a very minor surgery. I tore my meniscus in college, had it scoped, and was back on the basketball courts at the Rec center after a week of rest.

After last season Verrett had the best season I have ever seen for a TCU CB. But the great is that he is aware that there is still room for improvement. If Verrett improves from last year to a significant degree, we may have our highest draft pick since LT. Good lockdown CB are very, very hard to find.

Just one more year Jason, work hard on improving and your classwork, and you will go down in TCU history as one of the best. Best of luck!

Yeah the guy was pretty much unstoppable last year. Kind of ridiculous how good he was actually.
Or you could say he pretty much made top WR's look stoppable. If he has the right attitude he will have a great year. And if he has a great year, shutting down one side of the field, the defense should be super.

Casey's fist pumps are a thing of beauty. Jake, thank you for your signature sir. Pachall versus Purke in a boxing match would be one for the ages.

Anyways, carry on with your Saturday.

Yeah, that is just a celebratory fist pump, but it looks like if you put your face in the path there could be some serious damage done there....Casey is a big strong guy, remember.

Yeah his intensity isn't matched by many others. I'm a fan of my sig.
He's a competitor. I remember reading years ago that Roger Staubach, in a "friendly" game of table tennis, would break his paddle over the table if he lost. If all the defensive players were that competitive, it would be scary.

You were on the court, but could you run? Could you shoot? Could you (did you) score?

Joakim Noah thinks that's cute.
