Big 12 Tournament

If coach had pulled our second best pitcher and given up a home run, we’d be saying the exact same thing, but why did we pull him. He was in a no win.

I would have preferred a bunt, but it’s post season again; time to get on board for the fun!
Sloan is far from the second best pitcher. Have you watched games recently? He's not even the No. 1 option out of the pen anymore.

@Spike - Bottom of 9th. Stro HBP to lead off. I wanted Cramer to bunt him to second with Franco and Brunson coming up -- two of our best hitters. Cramer struck out. I think a sac bunt was the best way to get a much-needed run. Mosey wanted a big inning I guess. But runs were hard to come by.

Been gone awhile but see that some of you are laboring under a delusion that BM is going to call for a bunt. There’s only 1.5 bunters on this team. BM’s offensive philosophy is circa 2015. He was hired for pitching so KS didn’t have to do anything other than pitching. But there’s less than zero reason to believe BM would call for a bunt in that situation if a bunt sign actually exists.

FWIW-Frogs would have run ruled Houston in the quarters if they had bunted 50% of the time.

Yeah, I get it. Mosey doesn't like to bunt. I'm not a big fan of it early in a game. But damn. Bottom of the 9th. We needed another damn run. There are situations where you just need to lay one down.
We all saw Mosiello's stubbornness when we got lucky enough for Ohio St to hire him, unfortunately it didn't last too long and coincided with Bruce needing to be replaced. Saarloos made the easy hire. Easy for him, not the fan base

Was I supposed to type something here?

George Will pointed out in his fine Men At Work: The Craft of Baseball that "Baseball is a pal-o-cracy..." Basically, you hire your buddies. It's a long season...

There is no reason for Sam Myers and Cadena not to be top-notch bunters. Both are left-handed with above-average wheels. I was quite impressed that their #4 hitter was able to get a quality bunt down, and they play in a more hitter friendly park than we do.

I like to think the team having to sit there and watch. Arizona celebrate after walking out with a game we locked down for 8 innings should leave a burning gut desire to go into whatever tourney they get and destroy whoever they’re playing. Last night should light another fire in this team
C Parker needs to read this thread. It is obvious KS no longer trusts him to be even effective reliever.

I watch every LSU game as well as TCU and Jay Johnson could school BM on when and how to use bunts, especially for RUNS.

Houston was a threat for an error ANYTIME their infield had to throw the ball.
So many coaches don’t consider the pysch effect of multiple bunts and steals.
You can bet whomever gets Kentucky in a regional will see it. Vandy plays similar with Corbin

Pressure used to be an aspect of our offensive philosophy...
