A fresh arm would have been better I think.Sloan shouldn't have come out for the 9th inning. But that is what happens when you don't have lights out closer
Or an offensive coach that doesn't know when to bunt.Sloan shouldn't have come out for the 9th inning. But that is what happens when you don't have lights out closer
At second base no lessHuge what if Griffin hadn't gotten picked off with Stros at the plate.
It's not like we have a game today and one tomorrow. That was it. After batters have seen his stuff twice, it's best not to let them see something familiar the third go-round.I was surprised Sloan started the ninth. IMO Saars has a history of leaving pitchers in too long.
I bet LaPour could have thrown 10 pitches. It's not like we have a game today and one tomorrow. That was it. After batters have seen his stuff twice, it's best not to let them see something familiar the third go-round.
Hot pitchers and hitters aren’t going to do us any good if the coaches can’t make smart decisions and adapt situationally. Leaving in pitchers too long and not bunting are how you get bounced of tournaments early. One thing we learned is that many of our hitters and pitchers are hot right now. Holding Arizona to 0 runs into the ninth was very impressive. A good place to be in the postseason. Would have liked to have won, but easy to draw momentum if their minds are right.
And if Saarloos had brought in LaPour and he'd have injured his arm you'd be on here today complaining why Saarloos brought him in and ruined the Frogs chances of winning a regional.I bet LaPour could have thrown 10 pitches.
If coach had pulled our second best pitcher and given up a home run, we’d be saying the exact same thing, but why did we pull him. He was in a no win.Hot pitchers and hitters aren’t going to do us any good if the coaches can’t make smart decisions and adapt situationally.
