No. 13 Texas Tech takes advantage of turnovers to beat K-State 43-20, ending 8-game series skid​

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Behren Morton threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns in his return from an injury, J'Koby Williams ran for 135 yards and a score, and No. 13 Texas Tech romped past sloppy, mistake-prone Kansas State 43-20 on Saturday.

Cameron Dickey also had a touchdown run for the Red Raiders (8-1, 5-1 Big 12), who forced five turnovers while snapping an eight-game losing streak against the Wildcats (4-5, 3-3) with their first win in Manhattan since the 2008 season.

“That was a huge win,” said Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire, who arrived for his postgame news conference wearing a T-shirt with a photo of former Kansas State linebacker-turned-Red Raiders athletic director Kirby Hocutt across the front of it.

No. 24 Utah hands No. 17 Cincinnati its first Big 12 loss​

SALT LAKE CITY — Devon Dampier threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 24 Utah to a 45-14 victory over No. 17 Cincinnati on Saturday night, snapping the Bearcats’ seven-game winning streak.

Ryan Davis led Utah with a season-high 132 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions. Wayshawn Parker added 104 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Utes (7-2, 4-2 Big 12) racked up 480 total yards – including 267 rushing yards.

Utah’s victory kept the Utes in the hunt for a Big 12 championship game berth.

Scotty Fox Jr. accounts for 3 TDs, West Virginia beats No. 22 Houston 45-35​

HOUSTON — Scotty Fox Jr. threw for 157 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as West Virginia snapped its five-game losing streak with a 45-35 win over No. 22 Houston.

Fox was 13 of 22 and threw a touchdown pass of 24 yards to Cam Vaughn. He also rushed for 65 yards and had touchdown runs of 6 yards and 34 yards.

Diore Hubbard rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, and Cyncir Bowers added 65 yards rushing and a touchdown as the Mountaineers (3-6, 1-5 Big 12) outrushed Houston 246-82.

Sawyer Robertson throws for 3 TDs, Caden Knighten rushes for 104 yards and Baylor beats UCF 30-3​

WACO, Texas — Sawyer Robertson threw for three touchdowns, true freshman Caden Knighten rushed for a career-high 104 yards and Baylor got back in the win column with a 30-3 victory over UCF on Saturday.

Baylor (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) scored points on four of its first five drives, including a pair of TD tosses from Robertson to former USC and Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg and wide receiver Josh Cameron. The Bears built a 20-3 lead by halftime, and Connor Hawkins drilled his third field goal late in the third quarter to put them up 20. Hawkins made kicks from 41-, 40- and 28-yards out.

Robertson completed 29 of 40 passes for 267 yards but coughed up his first fumble of the season on a strip sack late in the first half. He has 2,780 yards and 26 touchdowns passing overall, both marks rank near the top of the FBS.

Sims sets Arizona State QB rushing record with 228 yards in 24-19 victory over Iowa State​

AMES, Iowa — Jeff Sims set an Arizona State quarterback rushing record with 228 yards, finished with 405 yards of total offense and had a hand in three touchdowns to lead the Sun Devils past Iowa State 24-19 Saturday.

Sims got the record when he broke an 88-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the Sun Devils (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) up 24-16. Mark Malone set the previous record in 1978 when he ran for 178 yards against Southern California.

“It's a blessing man. That's all I can say,” Sims said. “I was prepared to do whatever it was to win this game for this team, and everyone around me helped out.”

Sims carried 29 times for the Sun Devils and completed 13 of 24 passes for 174 yards. Chamon Metayer caught six passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, and Raleek Brown ran 16 times for 64 yards.

Kansas uses second-half surge to pull away from Oklahoma State, 38-21​

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Jalon Daniels led four second-half touchdown drives as Kansas overcame a sluggish first half to trounce Oklahoma State 38-21 on Saturday.

Kansas (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak.

“We (only) had 10 points (in the first half), but we scored on both possessions,” Kansas coach Lance Leipold said. “We just didn’t get off the field. It was a very fast first half.

Noah Fifita's 4 TD throws, Arizona's 5 takeaways help Wildcats crush Colorado 52-17​

BOULER, Colo. — Noah Fifita threw four first-half touchdown passes and the Arizona Wildcats forced five turnovers in rebounding from two closes losses with a 52-17 rout of the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday night.

“This is a huge win coming off two heartbreaking losses,” said coach Brent Brennan, whose Wildcats had lost in double-overtime to BYU and by a field goal at Houston. “We're gonna enjoy the plane ride home.”

The Wildcats (5-3, 2/3 Big 12) raced to a 38-7 halftime lead by scoring on six of their first seven drives, and the Buffaloes (3-6, 1-5) trudged into the locker room with more penalties (nine) than points.

We just need to beat ISU to get the ball rolling; then almost anything is possible.
It‘s best to stay positive, as all of this seasons goals are still in TCU’s hands to reach out and take.
The Frogs won 6 of the last 7 last year, so a similar event is definitely possible.

We are still in the mix… have to win out and have some losses/luck with teams 2-5, none of which have the strength of schedule we have for the remainder of the season
