Every conference has bad teams. We just now know that OSU will finish last again, KSU and WV will be near the bottom, and ASU will come back to earth a bit this year. It also means that TCU and Utah (and maybe others too) will have chance to move up and join Iowa St. who seems to poised to have another good season. After 2 weeks, if I had to choose, I would say 2 of those 3 teams will be in the Big 12 championship game.

100% agree...I have been on this all off season long after what happened last year. Although, if they had done the media poll this year, everyone would have picked OSU last and at least they would have been right this time.

Also add that out home slate if very interesting this year. 4 teams that I think our guys (especially those that have been around a couple of years) are going to be itching to beat. CU, SMU, Baylor, and Iowa State handed us losses last time we played them. Got a feeling that Nov. 8 battle against Iowa State is going to be huge!!

This fear of getting stuck in a failing conference, could explain why TCU has stepped up implementing it's back-up, "just-in-case", plan to get out, should the Big-12 continue to falter.

Just like with the creation of the recent Med School, soundly beating North Carolina, a school often mentioned as a potential addition for both the SEC and Big 10, should help with that, as should upgrading the school's research gravitas (R-1) status as an intermediate step to achieving AAU status.

None too impressed by the performance of our conference mates to this point. It's still early, but my expectations have changed to being in the running for the championship this season.

It is too soon for most of the conference. Looking at Utah and Tech and BYU, they look great right now, but haven't played a tough opponent yet. It will be interesting to see that Tech/Utah match up this weekend.
