These schools probably need to decide before the end of their fiscal/school year. It they are moving they need to plan ahead. They can't wait forever.
HelpfulI actually think it's going to be May 15th .. but giving myself a little wiggle room.

For reals?? You could start of with a Shirley temple. Kidding. That's awesome. I've cut downNo. I don’t even drink. But I still know stuff.
Everyone is throwing GK under the bus. He has the double whammy of a low offer and teams chewing their arm off to escape. Which is causing the low offer..
So do you get a discount when you go to a all-inclusive resort? No. I don’t even drink. But I still know
They could accomplish some kind of merger with the ACC, but if they do it won't include Clemson or FSU, and probably 2 others to the SEC/Big Ten. Plus, it is likely a couple of schools would prefer to land in the Big 12 (Such as Pitt and Virginia Tech plus maybe NC State and Miami if they don't make the other cut).I think trusting the anti SEC alliance really hurt the Pac. It was a nothing alliance that stalled the Pac moves. The Big Ten then took the biggest fish from their pond and the Big 12 jumped the line. Now the PAC has nothing and fighting to survive. I think their best hope is to align with the ACC in a merger. I don’t think that happens.
Instead of signing a deal with espn and fox, he wasted a year attempting to stop UCLA through the Cal board of regents. And ultimately secured money for only Cal, no one else. Instead of being commissioner for the whole conference (which is his job), he really was watching out for the Cal. Now he’s turned his attention to the other members, but the pantry is bare now. He made his bed in 2022.I don't think GK was being thrown under the bus. I think he's receiving just criticism for dithering while other conferences were busy shoring their position and strengthening their prospects.
I also believe typical West Coast arrogance led him to a mistaken but ironclad faith in Pac 12 elitism, which would compel the linear media to line up in trying to outbid one another for the conference broadcast rights. But the more proactive Big 10, SEC, and Big 12 undercut him, showing what a foolhardy decision that was. Now the chickens have come home to roost, leading most sports writers to conclude (in the words of ESPN) that GK has "gutted for the future of the Pac-12."
Whether ESPN is correct remains to be seen, but it's undeniable that the Pac 12's options are very limited and none of them very attractive.
Something will happen by summer one way or the other. This thread should be locked until
something actually worthwhile happens….although many of us might be dead by then.
I'm just anxiously awaiting the millions upon millions of posts in the coming years complaining about Big 10/SEC bias and favoritism. Like after every time a poll comes out. Or after every time Kirk Herbstreit speaks. Or after every time our gametime is announced.Something will happen by summer one way or the other.
