Big 12 Hoops

We have to beat UCF. Keep the train rolling.
Maybe doesn’t help that WV just beat UCF at home. Both now more determined; UCF not wanting to lose two in-a-row at home and WV now having more life to possibly make the tourney.

UCF has lost three in-a-row, losing at Houston and Cincinnati before WV. Their last win over Texas Tech, 88-80 in Orlando.

We seem to play to the level of our competition. We had Kansas beat until we didn't. That's what's maddening about this team, but it makes for exciting game finishes.
I think it is a function of our middling offense/ strong defense combo. Defense keeps us in the game against anyone, but don't have a consistent enough O to put lesser competition away. Hopefully the improved efficiency from the OSU game (one of our best of the year) sticks.

Yep. KenPom has the Frogs 50th overall, but 29th defensively and 99th offensively.

UCF will be yet another bubble-busting road opportunity. They are 52nd overall but a near-opposite of the Frogs--42nd on offense and 113th on defense.

(Of course, KenPom has its limitations--13-12 Baylor is still ranked ahead of TCU.)

Should have been better against them, even on the road. That was one we needed to get.
As in most team sports the second consecutive game on the road is always the game most teams are susceptible to losing. It happens a lot!
Not saying it helps TCU cause but it’s understandable.,

There are five regular season games left; hopefully winning three of five to finish 9-9 in conference is enough; but winning a conference tournament game would help. Four wins gets you to 20 wins overall.
I guess I shouldn't discount beating Cincy in the last game here. We can beat anyone, but we can get beat by anyone also. Hoping the team gets more consistent in the good way.
