This is not about seeding. It is based on records. Notice in standings chart Cinci is listed ahead of us. Obviously if seeding for a tournament you would have a different stack.
you going to die on this hill? whatever page you are looking at is a list - not something that has the overly complicated tie-breaker calculation built in - because no one cares. We are tied for 7th place - so somewhere between 7 and 10 and it does not matter which one...we are not 4th or whatever you were originally saying and the only thing that matters is who are the top 2

Tech and BYU are not tied. Tech best them so they have the head to head tie breaker.

Man, these rankings are really hard for some of yall.
The head-to-head tie-breaker is in place in order to seed a team in the post-2025 turf tournament....If BYU beats Tech in the conference playoff, the two would be technically then tied in head-to-head competition....

I maintain that the same W-L record among two or more teams is a tie for a "place"....In this case BYU and Tech are tied for first place, which means nothing since a championship is awarded to the winner of a playoff game....Both have the same record, both are tied for first place, there is therefore no second place team to seed as a conference playoff team....If there were no championship playoff game, then Tech would be the automatic qualifier for the national turf tournament, but both BYU and Tech would be co-champions....

SWC co-champions occurred the first year, 1915, between Oklahoma and Baylor (forfeited claim because of ineligible player (BU seems to begin a legacy of scandals))....1940, A&M and SMU tied for first place....1946, Arkansas and Rice....1953, Rice and Texas....1959, TCU, Arkansas, and TCU each at 5-1....1961, Arkansas and Texas....1968 Arkansas amd Texas....1975, Arkansas, A&M, and Texas, each at 6-1....1976, Houston and Tech....1979, Arkansas and Houston....1984, Houston and SMU....1993, Baylor, Rice, Texas, Tech, and TCU, each at 4-3, because the Aggies at 6-0-1 were ineligible because of ineligible players....

BIG 12...1999, Nebraska and Kansas State were North Division co-champs....2004, Colorado and Iowa State were North Division co-champs....2007, Kanas and Missouri were North Division co-champs....2008, Missouri and Nebraska, North Divison co-champs and Oklahoma and Texas South Division co-champs....2012, Kansas State and Oklahoma, North Division co-champs....

THEN 2014 the infamous TCU and Baylor co-champions when the conference returned to round-robin play....Baylor of course claimed there was no such thing as a co-champion since it beat TCU that year....The conference's refusal to identify a single championship cost both schools a higher ranking and a chance to play for the mythical national championship.....

Sorry for using up so much cyberspace here, but I'm bored since there's nothing of consequence going on in the college athletic universe (I don't care who is taking Lucy Van Pelt's place to coach the Charlie Brown one-man team).....
